MEDIATION
Cynthia D. Samuel has participated in hundreds of Mediations as well as participating in the development of a Pilot Mediation Program in Jefferson Parish Juvenile Court.
- In the early 2000's, she participated in the development of a Pilot Mediation Program in Jefferson Parish Juvenile Court for Child Protection Cases. It was an effective alternative dispute resolution program. She was an outspoken leader in the development of the program. Orleans Parish Juvenile Court developed a parallel mediation program.
She participated in over 300 juvenile mediations during the more than five years of the program.
- Through that mediation program, she assisted her clients in obtaining better results in their cases, always advocating for her clients' position and interests by successfully negotiating with opposing sides of the litigation to reach a satisfactory and amicable resolution.
- The success of the Mediation Program was measured by the shortened time children remained in foster care.
- In 1990, Cynthia D. Samuel also completed mediator training at Loyola University Law School.
